Super Lawyers®
Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. America’s Top 100 Attorneys®
Only 100 attorneys in each state* will ever be selected for lifetime membership among America’s Top 100 Attorneys®. This lifetime honor is not given once a year, or once every 10 years, but is truly once-in-a-lifetime. Once all 100 attorneys have been selected for a specific state’s* lifetime membership, the selection process will be closed and no more attorneys will be eligible for lifetime membership among America’s Top 100 Attorneys™ in that state* until an existing member passes away, retires from active practice, moves out of state, or is otherwise unable to actively practice law.
Candidates for membership are initially identified through third-party research or peer nominations by other elite attorneys in the community. Once a candidate is identified, they are carefully screened through third-party research and analysis involving proprietary algorithms applying multi-criteria decision making methods to create a Pareto efficiency frontier. These algorithms assess a broad array of criteria and data for each candidate, including (but not limited to) the attorney’s lifetime legal achievements, professional experience, significant case results and/or verdicts, peer reputation, client satisfaction, other notable honors, media notoriety, and community impact, among many other proprietary factors.
*Southern California, Northern California, Southern Texas, Northern Texas, Southern Florida, Northern Florida, New York City, Upstate New York, and Washington D.C. are all separated into individual regions due to the significantly greater number of attorneys in each of those regions.

The (Multi-)Million Dollar Advocate Forum
Since the Million Dollar Advocates Forum was founded in 1993, membership has been based upon strict and objective standards. Each applicant is required to complete a detailed application demonstrating that he or she has met the basic qualification of having acted as Principal Counsel (as that term is defined in the membership application) in one or more cases which resulted in a final judgment (not subject to appeal or modification), award or settlement in favor of his or her client in the amount of one million dollars or more. In 2007, the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum was added with regard to cases of two million dollars or more.
Attorneys meeting the qualification must pay a fee to apply for their life-time membership in the (Multi-)Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
